JOB PROFILE 2: SYSTEM INTEGRATOR FOR THE GLASS MANUFACTURING SECTOR

Responsible for installation, supervision and maintenance of automation systems that regulate and control processes in digitalized industrial manufacturing (this professional role may be regulated by different international standards and national laws within the European Union).

  • Knowledge of PLC systems
  • Knowledge of ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming
  • Knowledge of SCADA/HMI systems for supervision and control
  • Practice on DCS (Distributed Control Systems) for furnace control
  • Knowledge of High-precision temperature control systems
  • Knowledge of heating and cooling systems for industrial applications
  • Knowledge of advanced control systems (PID, predictive control)
  • Management of thermal profiles and heating/cooling curves
  • Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) architectures
  • Knowledge of ERP-MES-PLC integration
  • Knowledge of Industrial databases and process historians
  • Expertise in Industrial Automation Systems: Proficiency in installing, monitoring and maintaining control systems such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) to regulate and optimize glass manufacturing processes
  • Cloud Data Integration and Security: General knowledge of securely transferring data to and from cloud platforms, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with cybersecurity standards in industrial environments.
  • Process Control and Optimization: Ability to configure and fine-tune automation systems to enhance efficiency, precision, and reliability of glass production processes, including melting, forming, and quality control stages.
  • System Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Skills in diagnosing and resolving issues in automation systems, performing regular maintenance, and ensuring minimal downtime in glass manufacturing operations.
  • Interdisciplinary Communication and Integration: Competence in collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineers, IT, and production staff) to integrate automation systems seamlessly with existing manufacturing infrastructure and ensure interoperability.

Specific requirements

  • A basic knowledge about design in automation is preferred
