THE ROLE OF SINTEF INSIDE TRINEFLEX PROJECT
SINTEF leads Task 4.4: Carbon capture, utilisation and or storage. This task will develop a demo-campaign consisting of a photovoltaic thermal (PV-T) system and a heat pump integrated to SINTEF’s solvent-based CO2 capture pilot plant, at Tiller, Norway. The heat pump will be used to as an auxiliary thermal energy booster that upgrades waste-heat (available) and or low temperature heat from the hybrid panels for steam production. This campaign will validate a carbon capture model developed by SINTEF, demonstrating how integrated renewable and waste-heat sources can support carbon capture processes. The model will showcase a sustainable approach to meeting the high energy demands of CO₂ capture, offering a scalable solution for energy-intensive industries aiming to reduce emissions and energy costs.
